13 Oct Desk Pad DIY
If I’m honest, I didn’t even remember that there was a thing called a desk pad. Until I bought a new desk for my 5 year old and this happened:
Needless to say, I wasn’t very happy about the markings on the desk. And then I remembered that, when I was a child, I always had a desk pad! I now understand why 🙂
I started looking for a desk pad suitable for my daughter. The problem was that all the desk pads I was able to find were either too office-like or, if they had a nice print, were too small. So it was time for a simple DIY project. I bought a clear desk pad and some self-adhesive vinyl (contact paper).
I would say that this is probably the easiest DIY project ever: just cut the self-adhesive vinyl to size and fix it to the table matt.
All good, right?
Except that my 5-year-old hated the mat. It was “boring” and “why does everything always have to be white?”
So I let her choose what she wanted and I made another one:
After all, it is her bedroom 🙂
